Due to illness, disability, or being away for extended periods of time, some of our members are unable to manage their financial affairs in a timely manner. We want to help those members avoid the problems that late payments or disconnects can cause. If you or someone you care about would like to have another person’s assistance in remembering to pay the electric bill, please let us know. Our Third-Party Notification program permits these members to designate a third party — a relative, friend, clergyman, or social service agency. We will notify the third person (agreed to by our member) if the account becomes delinquent and subject to disconnection. The designated person can then contact our member and remind him or her that the electric bill is past due. Naturally, the third party is in no way obligated to pay the bill.
